Research into Multi-scale Examination of MultiPHase physIcs in flowS (MEMPHIS)

Dr. Buddhi Hewakandamby (BNH) is a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. He has earned a PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2002 working on thin film dynamics under Marangoni stresses. He has been a research associate at the University of Sheffield before taking up a Lecturer position at the University of Nottingham. He received the IChemE Moulton Medal (2009).

BNH’s current research interests include two phase flows, droplet coalescence and break up under shear flows, interfacial wave dynamics, heat transfer in two phase flows and interfacial phenomena. He also works on two phase flows in microfluidics in the areas of drug delivery systems, encapsulation and non-Newtonian fluids.
